Hi SeanMA,
I'm not sure understanding your meaning correctly, I think the Edison aduino board is power supplyed by USB port standardly，so when you plug in the USB cable , the Edison will get power and turn on obviously.The another Power Supply Jack is an optional jack only when you need to use the Edison Arduino board as an USB host machine.
Please tell me is it consisting with your meaning, thanks.
