Are you willing to send your system to us? (Yes/No) No
Is your system a laptop or desktop? Desktop
If desktop, is it custom built, or manufactured? Built by me
If desktop, what is the make/model of your motherboard? Asus B85M-G
What is the make/model of your system? All Series? It says all series on Dxdiag but the Mother Board model is: B85M-G
What is the model of your CPU?
What is the make/model of your failing display(s)? Monitor: Philips 23" iGPU: Intel HD 4600
If laptop, is your built-in display failing? (Yes/No)
What is your operating system? Windows 8 Pro
Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system? 64 Bit
What display driver version do you have installed? Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. If installed: 15.31.9.64.3165 (9.18.10.3165) But the problem is I can't see anything using this driver so I have to stick with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
What type of connection are you using? (HDMI, VGA, DP, DVI?) Tried DVI and HDMI, Going to try VGA, Display Port Not Applicable
What happens that results in the blackscreen failure? Installing the Intel graphics driver using DVI and HDMI (Didn't try VGA yet.)
To revert this I have to get Windows to go to the system restore and it deletes some of my stuff like my anti-virus which is very annoying. I built this PC 2 days ago so it is surprising to see that something is not working already. Anyways, Asus has their own modified (probably) intel driver for download. So I used it and still the same results. I used the Device manager to install the drivers and the same thing happens again. I don't want to have to stick with "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" forever. I updated the BIOS to the latest BIOS and it still doesn't work. Anything to do with Asus's UEFI BIOS? |
